Bitterness. It is the virus that, once infected, has the ability to break us down into selfish, unhappy, unforgiving, and unpleasant people. Bitterness is sneaky and unassuming; until it is too late. Then it becomes obnoxious and demanding. Some of the symptoms of bitterness are: holding grudges, jealousy, the dislike of cheerful people, refusing to forgive others, unaccepting of advice, uncharitable generalizations, and the refusal to make personal changes. Once the virus has reached its peak, it is nearly impossible to heal.
